Envision Lā‘ie in Honolulu Advertiser
Caryn Kunz from the Honolulu Advertiser attended the Envision Lā‘ie Open House April 30 and has written an article about the workshops.
Ko’olauloa residents, local leaders, and a group of national community planning experts came together last week for a series of evening workshops geared to defining a vision for Lā‘ie‘s future…Over the course of three nights, over 750 participants voiced their opinions on affordable housing, job opportunities, and quality of life through electronic polling, designing area maps, and asking questions…Some informal poll results taken from 445 people, 71 percent of whom were Lā‘ie residents, showed that affordable housing is the biggest issue for residents. More than 72 percent of those polled believe that the quality of life in La‘ie will decrease for future generations. Most see some form of growth as necessary.
Mahalo for joining us as we Envision Lā‘ie together.
